How cute and what a perfect follow up to my last post!! I truly love goldfish! I had them in the centerpieces at my wedding! And here is a whole Etsy treasury dedicated to them! What fun! I truly love each and every one of these items!! Maybe I should start designing goldfish-related things...why haven't I yet?? :)
I love goldfish. I love books. I love this combination of goldfish and books. Fun and literary. And isn't that what I'm always trying to be? :) Thank you, Daily Candy, for turning me on to these. One of my best friends and I are suckers for anything with words on it. I don't know why I'm am so lured to artwork, home goods, and accessories that say things, but I am, so I nearly fell over myself with excitement when I found the Keep Calm Gallery site thanks to Amanda at Amanda and Don. They've got some fun bags.... (also, why am I a sucker for things British?) Some fun (and witty) dishtowels... And some great prints.... Wouldn't this be great in a kid's room? It's got the primary colors to stimulate their imaginations and fabulous style that a grown up mother can appreciate. (Not that I'm having a kid any time soon, Mom.) Anyone else out there as obsessed with worded goods as I am?
One of my best girlfriends is happily planning her wedding for next summer. She has a terrific sense of style, and she is totally infusing her personality into her wedding! No run-of-the-mill decor for her. One her ideas that I am most enamored with is paper flowers! At first, I was skeptical, but now that I've seen some great ideas, I'm completely won over! She plans on carrying a paper bouquet (as well as her bridesmaids) and having paper boutonnières for the guys. I am enchanted with this purple and white paper bouquet that I found on Etsy! I love the different shapes of the flowers and the fact that it's made of music sheets! I think it's so pretty and I think it'd be perfectly fitting in the hands of a bride! One of my friend's predominant colors in her wedding will be purple, so I think this is a great inspiration bouquet for her! I love how whimsical these paper bouquets are! They look like they stepped right out of Alice in Wonderland! And they're made out of books! I saw them over on OffBeat Bride, in a great UK wedding. (I love the blue dress! What a skirt!!!) (Image via here.) This isn't what I had planned on posting this morning (afternoon?) but it's always a great feeling to get that Etsy convo saying that you've been featured in someone's treasury (along with 15 other amazing artists), so I thought I'd share! :) I love the combination of golden yellows that this curator used! I think the collection's not just autumnal, but appropriate to this time of late summer as well. I love when the afternoon sun shines so bright and warm through our back doors.
Self promotion: that's one of my bags in the upper left hand corner ;) Yesterday was beautiful and today is hilarious. I saw this in Daily Candy just a bit ago and I just laugh out loud every time I see it again! What a great way to begin the day!! I can just imagine my dog greeting visitors at the door with a mustache!! Wouldn't that be the best way to say hello to anyone coming over?? :) Oh just thinking about it makes me laugh again!! |
A little blog of little things I find inspirational, beautiful, or downright hilarious! Crafters and sewers, visit my site, The Modern Seamstress, for tips and tricks for sewing! It's a work in progress, but I welcome suggestions! :)
