This is apparently a theme for me. Sometime, I will post the paper flowers that my friend Ashley made for her wedding...along with her awesome dress that I made!! But in the meantime, here are some goldfish cake toppers that I need, and some great paper flower bouquets! I love the texture and the whimsy of these! Available here on Etsy!!

Good morning! Late Thurs night, I came up with this plan to try to re-make a bridesmaids dress into a dress to wear out to a bachelorette party by using some well placed embellishments. Wish me luck! I got some great fabric yesterday and I've already got some great shoes...and if it turns out well, I will definitely post some before and after pictures!
In the meantime, here a a few dresses that I am in love with...I love great details and embellishments. Why do these pleats and and ruffles and gathers affect me so?? I'm swooning!! :) I love the ultra-femininity of all these pieces. Enjoy! Apparently, this will be my goldfish blog. I can't help how much I love them! They can be whimsical or beautiful... ...anyway, here is a whimsical example! I love everything in this artist's shop. Here are a few cuties for you if you love the super cute handmade look, but not the goldfish. :)
A Late Summer Tan treasury for your enjoyment this morning! I love it!! and how a good tan can be just as warm of an autumn color as orange! :) :) :) I had something else to post today, but then I saw these!! Swoon! I am in love!! Remember the glittery, rhinestone, velvet shoe clips of the 80s and 90s? I adored them as a kid...well, here is the updated version! So pretty! And you can have shoes to match every outfit! (As if you don't already) ;) My bit of love for the day: these personalized posey rings. I'm getting one as soon as I think of the perfect thing to say on it. They're stackable, they come in thicker or thinner styles...I just think this artist has completely gotten everything right with her designs. They can be cool or romantic...just about any look or feel that you want! Posy rings (as the British Museum names them) were popular between the 15th and 18th centuries as wedding and engagement rings. They'd have romantic sayings on them or short poems. The British Museum has a pretty extensive collection of them. I saw them there when I was in London and was in love with them from the start. I have several reproduction posy rings, in fact! I was so in love! But I just love these modern versions. Create funny romance (instead of gooey romance), or just funny rings! Or choose a romantic saying that has a special meaning to you and your loved one. I also really like that she made a pair of "42" earrings...the answer to life, the universe, and everything. Maybe that's what I'll put on my posey ring. :) Thanks to jessentials for including my bag in this great treasury! Black, white, and red are just a great combination! :) How cute and what a perfect follow up to my last post!! I truly love goldfish! I had them in the centerpieces at my wedding! And here is a whole Etsy treasury dedicated to them! What fun! I truly love each and every one of these items!! Maybe I should start designing goldfish-related things...why haven't I yet?? :)
One of my best girlfriends is happily planning her wedding for next summer. She has a terrific sense of style, and she is totally infusing her personality into her wedding! No run-of-the-mill decor for her. One her ideas that I am most enamored with is paper flowers! At first, I was skeptical, but now that I've seen some great ideas, I'm completely won over! She plans on carrying a paper bouquet (as well as her bridesmaids) and having paper boutonnières for the guys. I am enchanted with this purple and white paper bouquet that I found on Etsy! I love the different shapes of the flowers and the fact that it's made of music sheets! I think it's so pretty and I think it'd be perfectly fitting in the hands of a bride! One of my friend's predominant colors in her wedding will be purple, so I think this is a great inspiration bouquet for her! I love how whimsical these paper bouquets are! They look like they stepped right out of Alice in Wonderland! And they're made out of books! I saw them over on OffBeat Bride, in a great UK wedding. (I love the blue dress! What a skirt!!!) (Image via here.) This isn't what I had planned on posting this morning (afternoon?) but it's always a great feeling to get that Etsy convo saying that you've been featured in someone's treasury (along with 15 other amazing artists), so I thought I'd share! :) I love the combination of golden yellows that this curator used! I think the collection's not just autumnal, but appropriate to this time of late summer as well. I love when the afternoon sun shines so bright and warm through our back doors.
Self promotion: that's one of my bags in the upper left hand corner ;) |
